Sri Lanka Police have launched a series of massive special operations across the country to curb crime and narcotics. These operations are being carried out at division level, covering all local police stations.

Searches and arrests

According to yesterday's (04) report, 26,868 individuals were searched during the operations. The Police Media Division stated that 410 persons were arrested on suspicion during these checks.

As a result of these special operations, authorities have been able to definitively identify 23 individuals suspected of direct involvement in crimes.
