A huge tree collapsed onto the busy Colombo-Ratnapura main road today (08). The obstruction happened in the Madola area of Avissawella, triggering heavy disruption for daily travelers.

Traffic Stalled In One Direction

Following the tree fall, traffic heading in one direction came to a complete standstill. Motorists and commuters faced serious inconvenience as vehicles queued up along the stretch.

Area residents quickly gathered at the scene to help clear the fallen trunk and branches from the highway. Steps are currently underway to reopen the road and bring traffic flow back to normal as quickly as possible.
