The Court of Appeal issued a directive to the Attorney General today (05) regarding alleged drug kingpin Shiran Basik.
The court asked officials to examine if Basik can receive food brought from home and have access to his lawyers while he is detained, and to report the findings back to court.
Challenging the detention order
This instruction came when a petition challenging Shiran Basik's custody was called for hearing, according to an Ada Derana reporter.
Basik is held under a detention order issued by the Police Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), where he is being interrogated.
