Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich confirmed on Thursday that England captain Harry Kane has extended his stay until June 30, 2029.
The 33-year-old goal machine arrived from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023. Since moving to Germany, he has guided the side to two Bundesliga crowns, the German Cup, and two German Super Cups.
Kane has maintained an astonishing scoring record, bagging 156 goals in 161 games across all tournaments for Bayern.
Historic achievements and accolades
Kane capped his brilliant run in Munich by capturing the Ballon d'Or last week. With that win, he became the first Englishman to secure the famous prize since Michael Owen in 2001.
He has also picked up the European Golden Shoe twice as Europe's top league goalscorer, topped the Bundesliga scoring charts every season at Bayern, and won Germany's Footballer of the Year in 2026.
Kane additionally led England to third place at this year's World Cup.
“I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich. We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club. My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I'm now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”Harry Kane
Happy in Munich
While rumours often tied Kane to a Premier League return, where he sits 47 goals away from Alan Shearer's 260 goals record, Kane revealed in August that England's top flight no longer tempts him.
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen praised the striker's impact on and off the field. While the club did not reveal the financial package, German media reported that it marks the most lucrative contract ever signed in Bayern's history.
