A mid-air bomb threat triggered emergency actions on Thursday for a passenger aircraft travelling across Europe. The Airbus A320 was en route from Dublin to Rome when the scare forced it to change path and touch down at France's Evreux airbase, according to the office of French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu. Officials confirmed the prime minister's office is currently monitoring the unfolding situation.
Emergency Declared Near Paris
Data from flight-tracking website Flightradar24 revealed that the Aer Lingus aircraft took a turn close to Paris. It began circling around the Evreux area after an in-flight emergency was officially declared.
This incident comes right after a wave of false alarms across the continent. On Tuesday, at least 7 flights and a cruise ship in Europe received bomb threats, creating massive airport chaos even though authorities found no explosive devices.
