Fuel prices are going up again at private pumps. Both Lanka IOC and Sinopec have declared a Rs. 20 per litre increase for 95 Octane petrol, coming into effect from midnight.
Following this fresh revision, a litre of 95 Octane petrol at both fuel companies will cost Rs. 515, up from the earlier rate of Rs. 495.
Price Gap With Ceypetco
Because of this change, motorists pumping 95 Octane petrol at Lanka IOC and Sinopec sheds will be paying Rs. 25 more per litre than customers buying the identical fuel grade from Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco).
The state-run Ceypetco currently sells 95 Octane petrol at Rs. 490 per litre, after bringing in a Rs. 15 increase earlier this month.
Earlier in late October, Lanka IOC and Sinopec had pushed up their 95 Octane petrol rates by Rs. 20, bringing the price to Rs. 495 at the time.
