(Yohan Bhasura) The mandatory requirement of the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) for eight specific financial transactions, which was scheduled to take effect from November 1, has been postponed until April 1 next year (2027), the Inland Revenue Department announced. The department further stated that this decision was taken with the approval of the Ministry of Finance, taking into account the public demand for the TIN, and added that the public can obtain the TIN through the online system.
