The impact of the ongoing gas shortage in the country has now hit luxury apartment complexes in Colombo. Management of a major residential complex near Galle Face, home to foreign ambassadors and prominent business leaders, has sent text messages to residents requesting them to limit gas consumption as much as possible.
It is reported that the complex, which receives gas via a centralized piping system, is currently on its final gas reserves. Residents have been urged to rely on electric appliances as far as possible to conserve the remaining stocks, and to use gas solely for essential requirements.
