A woman from the Ambanpola area who went to Saudi Arabia for employment has been untraceable for 14 years. She has been identified as Niluka Rajapaksha, a resident of Serugoda in Ambanpola.

Available documents show that she flew out for foreign work on April 10, 2012. Since that day, her family members say they have received zero confirmed news about where she is.

Complaints lodged with authorities

Her family has made multiple complaints to the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) over the years. Records show that an official complaint was registered on August 17, 2022, bearing reference number CD/183/2208.

The SLBFE sent out letters about the issue in 2023 and 2024. The matter was also brought to the attention of the Presidential Secretariat in 2025. Still, Niluka Rajapaksha's whereabouts remain completely unknown, and her family is appealing for help to find her.
